The project
Custodi del Bello Florence is the Foundation's project Angeli del Bello The program focuses on the most vulnerable, both Italian and foreign citizens, who are offered financial support and the opportunity to reintegrate into the community and the workforce through maintenance of public spaces such as parks, gardens, streets, and squares.

Project Values
Promote an integration model that combines care for common goods with care for the most vulnerable people.

 

What has been done since 2020:
1. Custodi del Bello Florence for Santa Croce
period: October 2020 – December 2021
Custodi del Bello Florence for Santa Croce is the first project dedicated to a specific area of ​​the historic center (recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1982), the Santa Croce neighborhood. The project involved a team of nine people who removed graffiti and stickers, and restored partially damaged plaster on the walls of public and private buildings.
Project partners: Klab and Associazione per Firenze.

2. Custodi del Bello Florence for San Lorenzo
period: January-December 2022
Custodi del Bello Firenze per San Lorenzo was born with the aim of implementing a pilot urban regeneration project with the direct involvement of the community in the area. The project therefore has strong social impact and includes a plan for urban beautification and redevelopment of public spaces, based on a mapping of the area's critical issues. This project was supported by the Insieme per San Lorenzo Association and the contribution of the neighborhood's social and economic fabric, including CCN San Lorenzo, CCN Via Cavour, CCN Via de' Ginori, CCN Via Guelfa e San Gallo, and others. The project was made possible by co-financing from the Azimut Group.

3. Custodi del Bello of Florence The Beauty of the Alleys
period: January 2023
Custodi del Bello Florence: Il Bello dei Vicoli (The Beauty of the Vicoli) is an urban regeneration project for a specific area of ​​Florence's historic center (a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1982), extending from Ponte Santa Trinita to Ponte Vecchio. The project intends to continue the redevelopment process already underway on the Lungarno degli Acciaiuoli, also addressing the "backside," the most residual and degraded spaces. The custodians were able to examine every detail, down to the smallest details, of everything existing in the "vertical" alleys by mapping the area's critical issues.

The interventions concerned, among others: Chiasso del Manetto, Chiasso and Piazzetta dei Del Bene, Borgo Santi Apostoli.

The project was made possible by the co-financing of Lungarno Collection.

The Partnership

The Foundation Angeli del Bello, Together with Consortium Communitas and the social promotion association Extraclean APS he conceived the national project Custodi del Bello with the aim of enhancing collaboration between public, private, and non-profit organizations, placing work at the center.
