They will go around the historic center giving information to visitors on rules of conduct regarding the decorum of the city and support in case of need. The project is promoted by the CR Firenze Foundation and the Fondazione Angeli del Bello
Florence, November 14, 2025 – The Ambassadors of Florence, special citizens and specialized operators who, with heart and smile, will act as a bridge between Florence and tourists, between those who live in the city and those who visit it for the first time or returns after years of absence. They will be intermediaries committed to promoting hospitality but also respect and protection of the city and its heritage.
The project was born from the collaboration between the Foundation Angeli del Bello and the CR Firenze Foundation, which is supporting it with 100 euros. The call to select Ambassadors is open; applications should be sent to ambasciatoridifirenze@angelidelbello.org.
The project focuses on two main pillars: heritage protection and the promotion of respect, to increase informed use of the city's historic center and to promote tourist hospitality by encouraging respect and care for the city. It also focuses on a process of civic and social engagement for volunteers, students, retirees, and, in the future, migrants, vulnerable individuals completing their integration process, or individuals performing public service projects, transforming them into Ambassadors.
They will be divided into 5 teams of two people each, each of whom will work in half-day shifts, monitoring the main arrival points for visitors and city users such as stations, the airport, park and ride facilities and the city's symbolic places.
The Ambassadors, equipped with a bib and identification badge, are constantly supported by the Foundation's coordination staff. Angeli del Bello of Florence, will be responsible for providing information on good practices and providing support when needed.
Between spring and summer of next year, the teams will be activated as a mobile garrison, and the Ambassadors will move around the historic center providing support and information.
The Foundation Angeli del Bello Florence will organize periodic flash mobs dedicated to the removal of vandalism, micro-cleaning of areas, and the restoration of the city's decorum, to indirectly involve visitors and city users in the care and respect of the city.
