Florence, April 22, 2025 – On the occasion of World Earth Day, the environment was celebrated with a special initiative: an ecological walk along the Mugnone stream in the Cure area, entitled “Camminpulendo”. The event saw the active participation of citizens, volunteers Angeli del Bello of the area, who take care of the Mugnone all year round, and the staff of College at the Oaks, In collaboration with the Reclamation Consortium Medio Valdarno and District 2.

Equipped with gloves, tongs and bags, dozens of volunteers set out to collect waste and enhance one of the most evocative green corners of the city. Along the route, in addition to micro-cleaning, information materials on environmental protection and the safeguarding of urban waterways were distributed.

The initiative was promoted by Quartiere 2, which reiterated the importance of active participation by citizens in caring for the territory. “This day,” declared the president of the Environment Commission, Tommaso Vecci, “is a concrete opportunity to reiterate how collective commitment can make a difference for the environment, even in small gestures.”

Collegio alla Querce, the new resort inaugurated on March 2nd and signed by Auberge Resorts Collection, participated in the initiative with enthusiasm, actively involving its collaborators. Since its opening, the structure has demonstrated a particular sensitivity towards the themes of environmental sustainability, underlining through this participation the educational and community value of the initiative.

Il Reclamation Consortium Medio Valdarno, illustrated to the participants the importance of maintaining ditches and streams, not only for environmental reasons but also for the hydraulic safety of the territory.

“CamminPulendo” has confirmed itself as an experience of group volunteering and active citizenship, with the aim of transforming the celebration of the Earth into a concrete gesture of love towards one's city.
"We've been caring for urban waterways for a long time, and we're particularly passionate about the Mugnone River. We're there every day, even on Sunday mornings. We still find too much abandoned waste. Who's going to join us?" said Alessandra Zecchi, Coordinator. Angeli del Bello
