Garden Thursdays: Discovering Irises
On Thursday 30th April we shared together a new appointment dedicated to the “Friends of the Angeli del Bello" Thursdays in the Gardens, a series of meetings designed to raise awareness and promote the greenery of our city.
This first meeting was dedicated to the Iris, the symbol of Florence, in one of its most evocative locations. We met at Piazzale Michelangelo, the starting point of a special, different guided tour.
Not just a stroll, but an experience designed to discover the garden through the eyes of those who tend it every day. A precious opportunity to learn more about the work, passion, and attention that go into the beauty of these spaces, often taken for granted.
Through stories and observations, we were able to appreciate not only the botanical and symbolic value of the Iris, but also the deeper meaning of caring for urban greenery as a daily gesture of care for the city.
The initiative, reserved for holders of the “Friends of the Angeli del Bello”, is part of the path we are pursuing to create moments of meeting and sharing, strengthening the bond between people and Florence.
It was a well-attended and inspirational afternoon, where discovery intertwined with a sense of belonging.
Another step together, to experience Florence not just as a space to be cared for, but as a place to be known and loved more and more every day.
